Manteca PD chooses CPS Map and CPS Map-Web for sophisticated analysis capabilities, providing a valued community resource

The Manteca PD crime analyst prefers CPS Map to another mapping product because it offers streamlined ease and provides a highly sophisticated analysis tool. The analyst notes that the software shows patterns of activity and quickly reveals when, where and what the problem is. A simple query of “calls for service” reveals hot spots instantly. “Spatial select” options dynamically display day-of-week and time-of-incident data allowing for analysis and action.

For example, Manteca PD became aware of a burglary series. CPS Map helped the analyst to assess the situation and identify patterns, which therefore aided in knowing how best to target the burglary operation. Manteca PD was able to deploy resources to saturate the area.

The Manteca PD Chief of Police upped the anti by offering CPS Map-Web. The sergeants and lieutenants at the Lodi police department assumed ownership of CPS Map instantly. They were virtually trained and productive users within a “shift or two.” Within days the benefits of CPS Map were apparent. Lodi PD used it to improve staffing levels and for shift alignment, matching demand for service with resources, thereby enhancing community service and safety. The Pleasant Hill PD wanted everyone in the department to “see” what analysts and managers were seeing. They chose to implement CPS Map-Net to aggregate data for beat officers on the “Intranet”, and show hot spots and crime patterns, which are crucial to effective community policing. Furthermore, the sharing of this data via CPS Map-Net means that officers can see call types and more fully understand management decisions for increased patrol. CPS Map-Net is a low cost solution to agency-wide communication and understanding.
